While no one is disputing that NYC has its fair share of beautiful parks, none has the same Joie de Vive as Midtown’s Bryant Park. Home to the tents of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, as well as being the Ivy covered backyard to The New York Public Library’s grandest building – Bryant Park is a long time favorite of tourists and New Yorkers alike. If you happen to live nearby, tomorrow the park will be having a free screening of the 1956 film adaptation of Rogers and Hammerstein’s Carousel. This sing-a-long hit centers around a carousel barker (Gordon MacRae ) who falls in love with an enchanting young mill worker played by Shirley Jones. However, after getting her pregnant he dies in a botched robbery, and 15 years later is allowed to come back from heaven to make amends. The film starts at 5 so be sure to come early and with a picnic basket!
