While the heat and humidity leave much to be desired, one thing we’re grateful for this summer (and every summer) is the plethora of ice cream trucks lining this city. Whether you’re a die-hard Mister Softee fan, or you need something with a little more variety- NYC has got something for you. Last September at the Fashion’s Night Out celebration, we discovered Heartschallenger- who serve up more of an experience than just soft serve. Another of our frozen favorites are Van Leeuwen Artisanal Ice Cream, whose vans have popped-up everywhere from local concerts to outside The Standard Hotel downtown. While they now have a store in Greenpoint, Brooklyn we still look forward to spotting that yellow truck from a distance.
While it’s small and often overlooked il laboratorio del gelato is close to our headquarters (and our hearts), and on a balmy day nothing is better than a scoop of their green tea or lavender gelato.
