Bruce High Quality Foundation Presents: FIELD OF DREAMS

Looking for some a little strange, and totally unique, to do this weekend? This Saturday, producer/artist Andres Levin, in collaboration with artist collective the Bruce High Quality Foundation (of Whitney Biennial fame), are presenting FIELD OF DREAMS–a one-day-only epic outdoor art and music festival taking place at Prospect Park Bandshell, BK. The project comes as part of the annual Celebrate Brooklyn festival , which every year brings crowds of thousands to the borough. How would we describe this celebration of all things DIY? According to their site, “Think World Fair ‘39 meets Summer of ‘69 in the recession of ‘09.” If you’re curious, check out the slightly racy, slightly goofball promo video below:

DV Spotting: Alexa Chung

You never know who you’ll run into in this city. In this case,  former MTV VJ and current New Yorker Alexa Chung was recently seen out wearing the Nolita in black. We love how Alexa paired the simple flats with a girlie floral dress and leopard bag for a look that’s ultra-feminine, but still retains that trademark Alexa edge. La Dolce Vita NYC: Check Out Our Favorite Candy Store

We here at Dolce Vita love the sweet stuff. When it comes to candy, there’s no such thing as too much of a good thing- which is why we love Economy Candy. Located around the corner from our showroom, Economy sells everything from Pez Dispensers,  to chocolates, to candy buttons- all at bulk or discount prices. Whitney Biennial

This past weekend NYC was aflurry with art fever, as the Armory Show descended upon our fair gotham. However, one of the true visual gems is the recently opened Whitney Biennial featuring some of the newest and most innovative art of our time. However, what’s truly rad about this year’s Biennial is that for the first time women artists outnumber men in the show- something you definitely don’t see every day in the fine art world.
